Essay Contest for Tasting Groups
SommFoundation is hosting an essay contest for tasting groups in order to further your educational blind-tasting experience. Whether you are studying for a specific exam, or just want to improve your blind tasting skills, we want to hear from you!
If your essay is chosen, Bertrand Leulliette and Bertrand’s Wines will provide your tasting group with 6 bottles of wine to blind taste as a group.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Submit an essay, no more than 300 words
- Must work in the Food & Beverage/Hospitality industry
- Must reside in the United States
- If your tasting group is selected, a short video no longer than 120 seconds, where each member of the tasting group will introduce themselves and why your tasting group is meaningful to you
YOUR ESSAY MUST MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS:
- 300 word limit
- Please answer the following questions within the essay:
- Who selects the wines for each session?
- How are costs shared and do you have a sponsor or partner who helps defray wine costs?
- What is discussion like for this tasting group?
- What if someone new wants to join? What does that process look like?
- If this tasting group would agree on shared values or a mission, what would that be?
